Morning Song

Most days, I wake up with a song. Not to a song, but with one.

I know which song is the day's song because I sing it for an hour or so without realizing it, like the words are coming from someplace other than my brain.

When I realize I'm singing, it's like a little surprise party - "Ooh, this must be today's song! I wonder what the song/the universe/God has for me this morning!  What am I to be reminded of today?  What do I need to make it through?  Perspective?  Grace?  Gratitude?  Awe?  Conviction?  Compassion?  Assurance?   Joy?"

The song is a framework for my thoughts and daydreams, it chooses the lens through which I view the circumstances of the day.   It is an undergirding, a theme.

The reason I share this today, is that today's song was/is "It Is Well."

And you guys - it is.
