The 4th of July. Our tent was 6 rows back from the water on what was likely one of the most crowded days of the year. Oh, that I were a few inches taller and you could see the rows of people lined up on the beach. The water was swarming.
That evening the symphony played a concert in the park - songs from Phantom, the Pirates of the Carribbean score and more. They proceeded to play the soundtrack for the fireworks show, which was 12x as moving and magical as any prerecorded Lee Greenwood songs. Dan and I sat together between our daughter and a man dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow.
